WHAT'S NEW
We all know the standard commercial products: Cleaners,
Degreasers, Boat Soap, Hull Cleaners, Bilge Cleaners - THEY
ARE ALL TOXIC. Most of these products don't belong in a
landfill and millions of gallons get dumped in the lakes and
ocean every year. Get educated and make a difference.
GreenBoaters.com is the only place you will find Natural Seas
Cleaners and Degreasers

We are committed to clean water, oceans, and lakes as well as clean air and indoor environments. Keep the air, water, and people
safe as possible is our mission.
Natural Seas products made specially for the marine environment, Natures Way products for
degreasing, oil dispersant's, and bioremedeation, and  products for cleaning and disinfecting. Go to our product page to see how
these materials will work for you.
GreenBoaters.com Marine
Cleaning and Degreasing

products  are the safest and most
effective alternative to the vast
amount of chemical cleaners
available in the world today. Many
cleaning products give you a false
sense of safety for both you, the
people around you and for the
environment. Many so-called natural
products are not as safe as they want
you to believe. You may find “Non-
Toxic” or “No Harsh Solvents” and
“Biodegradable” on the front label,
but the fine print often contains the
same health warnings found on
chemical cleaners.

Natural Seas solutions are not
soaps, detergents, petroleum
solvents, or citrus based. They are
non-toxic, non-caustic, non-fuming,
and have no flash point. They are
100% biodegradable and ultra-safe.

Natural Seas
solutions are made
from plants and other organic
materials. These products can only
be purchased at
GreenBoaters.com
online or from an approved supplier
of Green Boaters products.
More Than 70,000 new chemicals have been introduced since
1950. "We are conducting a massive toxicological trial on our
children," says Dr. Philip Landrigan of Mount Sinai Hospital in New
York City.

"
Over seven million accidental poisonings are reported each
year (14,000 daily). Most of the victims are children. The elderly are
the second most affected, " says the Columbia College of Physicians
and Surgeons.

"
Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from
cancer than women who work away from home."
 Toronto Indoor Air
Commission

" One of the reasons chemical concentrations are so high is
household chemicals release toxic vapors into the air - open or
closed."
Richard Barry

" Asthma, allergies, cancer, and a range of maladies from skin
irritations to fatigue and behavior problems can be directly linked to
chemicals in households."

                                Dr. Philip Landrigan

" Over 150 chemicals commonly found in homes have been linked
to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities."
Consumer Product Safety Commission

" Hyperactivity and learning disabilities in children have
increased 500%
. Poison is a major factor in a child's ability to learn.
Chemical imbalances due to the brain's neural-chemistry. The
answer is not drugs like Ritalin, but to stop the problems at the
source: prevent the poison.
Dr. Edelson, Environmental and
Preventative Health Center

" Toxins in household products are three times more likely to
cause cancer
than air pollution. Children breathe more air, eat
more food, drink more fluids and are much closer to the floor where
pollutants settle. After daily exposure, they may respond with cancer,
learning disabilities, allergies, lung problems, and immune system
damage.
U.S. Government, Environmental Protection Agency

Poisoning of lakes and streams had previously come from
industrial waste. Now, per the EPA, it comes from chemical cleaners.
Environmental scientists are describing this as a
"Chemical
Nightmare."
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS  WASTE AND
WATER  RESEARCH
Very little attention has been given to the
impact individual consumer use and disposal
of chemicals is having on our surroundings.
Studies of municipal landfills have lead
researchers to conclude that chemical
pollutants from household garbage have
contaminated groundwater. A 1986 study of
Seattle-King County, Washington solid
waste system estimated 11,000 tons of
unregulated hazardous waste went into
landfills almost half of the waste was from
residential trash.
Red Tides have been around for
centuries and occur around the globe.
However the red tide most prevalent along
Florida's Gulf Coast, also known as Karenia
brevis, has been on the increase. Every
year the problem grows larger and Florida's
beaches and way of life is in peril, not to
mention the state's multi-million dollar tourist
industry. The Karenia brevis is different from
its other algae species relatives as it
releases a neurotoxin which suffocates
marine life. The neurotoxin also aggravates
the respiratory systems of humans.
S.T.A.R.T
(Solutions To Avoid Red Tide)
A grass roots, non-profit, citizen organization dedicated to funding
and promoting efforts for the prevention, control and mitigation of
red tide and to increase public awareness of the risks and concerns
of red tide and to communicate what is being done about it.

Manatees, Dolphins, and
Marine Turtles

To  catch,  molest, injure,  kill or annoy
or otherwise interfere with the normal
activity  and well-being of manatee,
mammalian dolphins or marine turtles
are prohibited by Section 370.12.Florida
Statute.
GreenBoaters believe that putting
toxic poisonous  cleaners and other
pollutants in the water may potentially
create injury, that may  lead  to  death
of  these  creatures.  We  also  believe
that these toxic materials certainly will
annoy or otherwise interfere with their
normal activity and well-being.

Any cleaning material with a DANGER,
WARNING, or CAUTION on it label is
POISONOUS
Due  to  the fact that marinas have a large
number of boats in a small area the amount
of  toxic chemicals from  boat washing
alone is staggering. We believe the use of
natural solutions will improve environmental
conditions in and around these facilities.  As
Manatees, Dolphins, and other sea life
frequent  marinas  and  surrounding  areas
this  is  the  right  thing  to  do-
Replace the
Toxins
. It's not only the right thing, it's
common sense!
We believe there is significant damage to the water quality with
continued use of commonly available boat and hull cleaners. Nearly
all of these cleaners are an environmental hazard. So much
emphasis is spend on oil and sewage spills this toxic chemical
dumping goes virtually unnoticed. Even worst, walk along most any
dock and you'll find someone washing their boat with dish detergent,
laundry detergent, or anything else available. The ocean and lakes
are in trouble, and a large portion of the problem is toxic boat
cleaning chemicals.
The  State  of  Florida,  Department  of  Environmental  Protection, has developed its Clean Marina,  Clean Vessel,
Clean Marina programs. There are a number of marinas that  have  earned a seal as a Clean Marina, view this

The National Park Service and the District of Columbia as A Product of the Green Marina Initiative has produced a
useful booklet called the Green Marina Guidebook. It is full of information designed to help marina and boatyard
owners, operators, and concessionaires. View the complete booklet at
